Exposure monitoring aligned to cargo books

Signals map to jurisdictions, maritime corridors, and country sanctions programmes — inputs desks review before loss data materialises.

01

War-risk surcharge lead time

Freight corpus surfaces carrier surcharge language ahead of renewal and adjustment cycles.

02

Sanctions programme alignment

Country-level OFAC, EU, and UN programme flags — not entity-level screening.

03

Corridor chokepoint severity

Severity on Suez, Bab el-Mandeb, Panama and airway equivalents (corridor context).

Reference workflow

Red Sea corridor escalation

T+0

Conflict intensity

GRIP inputs register regional activity increase.

T+1–3d

Freight signal

War-risk surcharge references in market corpus — days ahead of market-wide adjustment cycles.

T+3–5d

Transit reassessment

Geo module moves jurisdictions to CAUTION.

T+5d+

Watchlist alert

Chokepoint HIGH triggers desk notification.

Evaluation

Operational intelligence vs headline monitoring

Generic news & alerts
Unstructured narratives, inconsistent geography
No auditable scoring methodology
Reactive — desk must interpret each headline
No sanctions or chokepoint overlay
Difficult to integrate into underwriting systems
GRIP_ins
Jurisdiction-level scores with daily refresh
Documented GRIP composite and source provenance
Tripwire alerts on state transitions (Synlogica-configured)
OFAC / EU / UN alignment and chokepoint severity
REST API; enterprise alert routing on contract

FAQ

Common questions from underwriting & compliance

Where does the data come from?
Documented open-source pipelines (ACLED, UCDP, GDELT), sanctions programmes (OFAC / EU / UN) and structural baselines — full source catalogue and provenance in the methodology and diligence pack.
Is this actuarial or pricing guidance?
No. GRIP is operational intelligence for exposure monitoring — not insurance advice, premium guidance, or actuarial certification. Scope and exclusions are stated in the diligence pack.
How fresh are the scores?
One daily UTC cycle — the same single source of truth consumed by TERMINUS logistics clients. Pilots receive the same-day API snapshot; the public map preview runs 24 h delayed.
Do you screen entities for sanctions?
No — flags are country-level sanctions programme alignment. Entity-level screening stays in your existing compliance stack; GRIP complements it with jurisdiction context.
How do we integrate?
REST API with key authentication, JSON payloads and OpenAPI 3.1 spec — see the integration guide. Typical desk integration lands in week 2–3 of a pilot.
What about GDPR / security review?
B2B delivery, no personal data in the feed; DPA available for EU insurers. Transport security, subprocessors and data categories are summarised on the security page — full pack for your CISO on request.
